Good advice, for what it I'd worth. For neck pain I'd advise physical therapy sooner rather than later

Jennifer, that really stinks. Especially in the middle of the good weather for riding!

I know everybody has their own (STRONG) opinions regarding what works and doesn't with health care. But for what it's worth (take it or leave it), I have had a lot of luck with both physical therapists and and Osteopath in Clarkston named Sarah Saxton (she's in the phone book under that name). The whole muscle spasm thing is something Neil has had a lot of trouble with (his back) and Sarah has been a lot of help. She doesn't do bone cracking stuff like most chiropractors, which I appreciate because having someone crack my neck or back kind of freaks me out! Although I know chiropractic stuff works well for lots of people. When I crashed earlier this year I thought I'd just tough it out, but 3 weeks later I still wasn't really walking. Sport Physical therapy in Lewiston was awesome and really helped a lot.

Don't know if any of that is helpful, but I hope so!

So,so sorry to hear about your injury. I haven't anything to add for help but be patient, give yourself time outside. Injury happens to all of us. You'll get better. Keep in touch and heat/ice. Linda

I'm sorry to say I will not be able to make the upcoming rides.  I have a severe neck sprain acquired  after  riding the 80 mile Memorial Day ride.  I have  neck and upper back muscle spasms that cause migraine headaches.  I have been to see a MD and he put me on muscle relaxers that help, but I have not been able to ride since the injury. I was wondering if anyone has information on recovery from this type of injury. I really want to get back on my bike and join you for these fantastic rides.

Hi Corrie,

Marilyn & I are doing the Grade and we are both planning
on riding the next two weekend rides after that!
Hope to see you.
Thanks.

Corrie, my daughter is visiting from Nebraska this month. I will not be going on any rides until after she returns to Nebraska on July 8. Too bad, both the Elk City Cycle and Bite the Bullet rides sound llke they would be fun. Drew

The summer riding season is upon us.

This Saturday is the annual I Made the Grade rude. Don't expect to do it. But I am open to persuasion. I'd rather do a longer loop ride.

The following Saturday is the Elk City Cycle on the Southfork. It is a modest  climb for 50 miles, lunch in Elk, City followed by a great descent. Sorry, no SAG this year as far as I know.

And the last Sunday of the month is Bite the Bullet. I hope it is not as warm this year. This is a personal favorite of mine.

Let's hear some discussion of these rides and some registrations. Don't want to drive out to Harpster or Lapwai and have no one show up.

Corrie

For what it's worth I'm planning on bite the bullet. Andrew and I are doing made the grade. But I'll probably be on a mtn bike so no loops that day for me.
